Hello, I’m JD! I’m a mother of two and a dog mom to a spicy little cockapoo named Pepa. I’ve always loved all kinds of animals. As a child, I took care of our class guinea pig each weekend and even over the summer. In college, I rescued a rabbit where she bunked with me and my roommates. During my teaching career, the students knew I was easily distracted by animals and loved to get wrapped up in talking about their pets. I even housed a student’s turtle in my room for a year.

Besides loving animals, I love attending my children’s many sporting events, working in my garden and yard, doing house projects, and of course, volunteering at a local dog rescue bathing, brushing, walking,g and playing with the puppy mill survivor and surrendered dogs. Showing love and patience so these dogs can learn to trust people is an incredibly rewarding experience.

I can’t wait to meet more furry, feathered or scaly friends!
