3 Cleaning Tips for Dog Allergies
1. HEPA filters on your vacuum
Keep those dog allergies at bay with HEPA filters. For those who are unaware, HEPA means high-efficiency particulate air. Its design traps particles from going back out. Because of their use, most pet vacuums usually have HEPA filters. On top of the filters, we suggest vacuuming at least twice a week, sometimes more depending on how serious the allergic reaction is.
2. Add an air purifier
A quality air purifier can help keep your home clean. Similar to pet vacuums, many purifiers already have a HEPA filter in place to trap the dander and other particles. Pair this tool with the vacuum and see many symptoms of the dog allergies subside.
3. Sheets & rugs need a thorough clean
These two items are likely where your dog will reside the most. bedsheets and rugs will likely hold the most dog dander and particles in your home, second to furniture. For the sheets, we recommend washing the bedding every week to help cut down the build-up. If the pet loves to hang out on your bed you may want to consider washing it more than once a week. If possible, add dust-proof covers to help keep your sheets clean without washing so much. For rugs, we recommend a once-a-month cleaning. If you are not cleaning them, a simple vacuuming will suffice.
